Of all the cities I’ve seen, Beradras is the most diverse in culture. Rightfully so, as a combination of its high walls, towering mage’s guild, and the great church of Aethos, home of the most righteous paladins in Sephira, were all that kept our world from crumbling so many years ago. Surely t’was the southern sanctuary mentioned in the Tales of Gabin.
The capitol of the Sapphire Kingdom has seen its share of both great heroes and great villains. The sprawling streets of Beradras are home to many, and the varied districts vie for a vistor’s attention. The Elven quarter blends the natural curves of nature into the architecture in stark contrast of the Dwarven district. Galleries and theatre’s shine in the High Quarter, providing entertainment to those with means, while the northern slums struggle to house those without. The Golden Halls of Aethos welcome all, its great courtyard overflows with the devout during the Week of Sacrifice.
Of the many wonders within the impenetrable walls of Beradras, none instills more awe than the Tower of Arcana Exemptus. This mighty tower houses the pride of the world-spanning wizard’s guild, as well as its darker secrets. The Serris Diamond hangs in the base floor, shining shimmering light upon those that come to give prayers and offerings to the essence of magic. Above, apprentices learn the terrible and wonderful power of magic. In the hidden depths below, prisoners deemed guilty of the practice of druidism are “processed.”
